Diagnostic Ultrasounds
We work together with our patients and their referring physicians to diagnose and treat venous insufficiency and the range of vascular disorders. In addition to listening to each patient describe symptoms and conferring with their primary care physician, we use a variety of diagnostic techniques and tools to help determine an accurate diagnosis and treatment program. We treat each patient as an individual with unique circumstances and objectives.
The following are some of the more common diagnostic ultrasounds we routinely perform.
- Ankle Brachial Index (ABI): We use this test to measure blood flow to the arms and legs and to detect arterial blockages. For more information on ABI testing, click here.
- Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD): An arterial ultrasound of the arms and legs shows blood flowing through blood vessels and can be used to detect vein thrombosis. For more information about PAD and related diagnostic ultrasounds, click here.
- Carotid and Abdominal Aorta Ultrasounds are used to detect stenosis or narrowing of the carotid arteries and abnormalities in the aorta. For more information about ultrasound testing for the carotid artery and abdominal aorta, click here.
